Button blanks 'green Honda' rumour
« on: February 02, 2007, 04:45:14 PM »
Jenson Button has refused to comment on rumours that his Honda might be painted green this year.

The Japanese squad revealed its 2007 car, the RA107, in an interim black livery, amid suggestions that Honda could adopt the new colour to reflect an overhaul of the company's environmental policy.

Brackley-based Honda is also searching for a fresh image after the team's former sponsor and part team-owner British American Tobacco pulled out of the sport. Green has not been used as the base for a grand prix car since Jaguar quit in 2004.

Button, 27, said whilst testing at Valencia: "I don't mind what colour the car is as long as it's fast!"

Honda's final livery will be revealed at a separate event prior to the season opening Australian grand prix.

Jaguar were green,look what happened......

So were the Coopers and pre-JPS Lotus. They did pretty well.

I bet he wouldn't say that if it was pink!  :-*

A couple of months back, F1 Racing mag had a Photoshopped version of a Honda with BP green, yellow and white paint. It didn't look half bad.

I thought Jag had by far the best looking paint job in years. But then, green was my color of choice for my cars back in my racing days. When the sponsers didn't have other ideas.

By the way, Dale Earnhart's first race car was a pink 56 Ford.

Cosworth,The British Racing Green does look smart.
It is when they merge all the other colours of the sponsers together....?
