Brundle & Son to Pair at LeMans
« on: November 23, 2011, 01:19:14 PM »
Martin Brundle and his son Alex will team up for next year's 24 Hours of LeMans. They will pilot the 2011 class winning Greaves Motorsport LMP2 prototype, powered by Nissan.

"This is an unexpected pleasure, heightened by the fact I will be team-mates with my son," Martin said.

Martin headed up Nissan's 1997 LeMans effort. He won the 1990 24 Hours of LeMans in one of my favorite LMP cars, the Tom Walkinshaw Silk Cut Jaguar XJR-12.

Excellent stuff! Martin's tweeted that he's passed the medical test to get his racing licence sorted, so all he has to do now is get those rookie laps done in early June. Best of luck to him and Alex :)

Always liked Brundle, hope he has a good run, but I remember Mansell and Sons had hard going a couple years back.

When Mansell came to CART in the 90's he became my
favorite driver,Emmo stole the 500 from him

Our Nige once said that Milwaukee was the toughest race he ever did. With the speed and the traffic, it required complete concentration and commitment.

Mansell had a rough time, but he and his sons acquitted themselves well until the puncture early in the race. Martin and Alex are making it easier for themselves by not putting in their own entry, but relying on the expertise of a team that's already won the Le Mans Series championship with a very similar car.

Very True. And sound thinking by Brundle and Son.
