IndyCar Return to Watkins Glen?
« on: December 27, 2011, 12:20:15 PM »
IndyCar may return to Watkins Glen in 2013. The historic track, long time home of the U.S. Grand Prix, hosted IndyCar from 2005 to 2010. The series left the track the same time it left other tracks owned by International Speedway Corp., NASCAR's track ownership branch.

IndyCar might share a week-end with the NASCAR Truck Series.

What is truck series attendance like?

I'd hate to see IRL outdrawn by NASCAR minor league racing...

If Indy cars can run at the Glen why can't F1?

Not fancy enough. No sky boxes, no pit with a garage attached for each team, too much Armco.

No 4 star hotels for hundreds of miles, little hotel/motel space at all. Just like Austin, only the Glen is much prettier.

According to AAA there are at least 5 4 star hotels in Austin. I do agree that the Glen is prettier, and unless Tilke is way above his average, it's a better track too.
