Ferrari has hired a former top Bridgestone engineer to help with their problem generating heat in the tires:

Ferrari has confirmed a couple of new recruits, notably former Bridgestone tyre engineer Hirohide Hamashima, who will work to work on matching the tyres to the cars. The team has also hired Steve Clark from Mercedes to head race engineering.

Matching the tyres to the cars?  ::)  :confused:  Now is that a euphemism for trying to influence Pirelli development to suit the Maranello cars?  ;)

Ferrari worked with Hamashima during the glory days when Bridgestone WAS making the tires just for them. They think he can help them understand why they can't generate heat in the harder compounds.
