Wow, if I didn't love you so much Dare (and that you didn't put that together yourself) I'd swear that was just flame bait pure and simple!  :DD :DD

It hints at the fact that with a pinch more reliability, Clark could easily have been a 5 time champion. He went to the last race of the season 2 or 3 times with a chance to win and had mechanical trouble deny him.

It also points to the idea that Fangio could have at least one more WDC, maybe two more, with dependable cars.

It also spells out that Piquet must be the luckiest man since someone found the Koh-I-Noor diamond.  :D

Villeneuve's championship was damned lucky too.

If Schumacher had raced clean instead of making that move on Jacques, I'm pretty sure that Schumacher would have won his third championship in 1997.

You could also say that if Schumacher's move had worked and JV's car was damaged and unable to continue as well as Schumacher's, then JV wouldn't have won the title  :P :P

Ifs, buts and maybes. Moral of the story: it's good to be lucky! I wouldn't be surprised if Vettel is lucky one day, although I doubt he'll need to be this season.

Vettel's first championship was pretty lucky.  Just ask Alonso!  However, I think that whoever won that particular championship would have won it on luck.
