Alonso would be an 'exciting' team-mate - Button

Have JB completely lost it?  :fool:  :fool:, Given the history of Alonso, at Mclaren, JB wants him out of the lot as a team-mate?? I wonder what Hamilton feels after this comment about his team-mate. Is Button want to join Ferrari as a replacement of Massa? :DntKnw: :DntKnw:

I have a feeling, JB is wooing our Jugirl, and made the statement to impress her  :P  :P

Well Alonso wouldn't be as erratic as Hamilton, so I think he would be a much bigger challenge for Button.  I somehow don't think he was trying to insult Hamilton - reporter asked him something like 'If Hamilton wasn't in F1, who would you like your teammate to be?' and then just left out the bit about the reporter asking the first part of the answer.

"But if Lewis wasn't in Formula One, for example, I personally feel it would be exciting having Fernando as a team-mate.

Not as erratic?  I feel that Hamilton learned how to be an F1 driver from Alonso (which was McLaren's goal in the first place).  Alonso's time at McLaren makes Hamilton's recent pouty faces seem civilised.

I do like the Button-Hamilton team.  I get the feeling that they have the right kind of relationship:  friends off the track, rivals on the track, but without the biterness that some teammames have had.

They have different, though excellent driving styles, and I think that suits McLaren just fine.  If the car isn't right for one driver, it will probably work for the other.

Button has matured a lot as an F1 driver, and I wish that would rub off on Hamilton.  I'm sure McLaren wishes so too.

I like Jenson and Lewis in Mclaren together and feel they rub off well on each other- beating your fellow countrymen and all that.

Having said this Alonso and Button would make really interesting team-mates- they are both thinkers and strategists and it would be quite fascinating to see what could happen- however i doubt Alonso would appreciated Button as his team mate- and i dont think Button would even contemplate moving to Ferrari with the current car (I know Alonso won but i don't rate the car at all- he won on pure skill with a bit of luck thrown in)

No, I get that...but Hamilton could still take offence to that.  My point was that maybe the reporter asked the question that way, and that Button didn't think up that hypothetical himself.

I meant their driving, not their personality disorders.   :P

McLaren is doing the best job of having two #1 drivers of any team in recent years. Not an easy task.

When your job is driving a super sized go-kart 19 Sundays of the year... surely the only way to approach it is by being a big kid.

People, this is the team, that kept Prost and Senna for two season, while they were banging each other.. Compare to them, Alonso Lewis seemed very mild... and Button- Lewis look like angels...

I really like these two in the Mclaren, complement each other in their driving style, fierce competitiveness with respect for each other..

I have a feeling Lewis has learnt a bit, in this years, to respond like a big kid... And seriously if this guy is p*ssed off in the podium, he has every right to be so, in qualifying he had blistering pace, while for some reason, Lewis could only manage 3rd..twice.. In this early days, commanding advantages gives a certain cushion, which in the later stages may be very much useful.. (As Button found it in 2009).. So if he is this much focused with his driving and getting the car a bit further on the podium, I guess no harm will be done..

Whole thing is a storm in a teacup, Jens has a long contract at Macca and Nando has the same at Ferrari.  ::)
There's more chance of JYS coming out of retirement to drive for Red Bull than Jens and Nando being teamates.  :D
So to my mind Jens is well aware this is a leg pull, and quite possibly a pop at Hammy.  ;)
