An aircraft landing is just a controlled crash.

I never understood the NCAA fanaticism.

Most of the rioters don't/didn't/won't go to that school.

Most of the kids playing in the game aren't locals.

The kids are just taking your money as a stepping stone to being a zillionaire in the NBA, NFL or whatever sport they play.  The kids don't even get a fair share of the the money the school makes off of them.

Americans love all kinds of sports. Some just enjoy the game (whatever game they prefer) but some feel the need to identify with a particular team. In a smallish town like Lexington, where the university is a big part of the community, many of the locals strongly identify with the school. Mix that with copious amounts of alcohol and those who look for trouble at the best of times and it's easy for it to get out of hand.

Mark Twain once opined, "it's easier to con someone than to convince them they've been conned."
