The most hair-raising airport? Whichever one I'm landing at! Scary for the folks on the ground and terrifying for my poor passengers!  :swoon:

Seriously, Chicago Midway is way tougher than either LaGuardia or Hopkins. Not only are you in the traffic pattern for the ultra-busy O'Hare, the airport is completely surrounded by city neighborhoods. Pilots joke about leaving tire tracks on the roofs.

One thing about LaGuardia: It was built in the thirties, when trans-Atlantic flights were mostly via flying boats. That's why it is where it is. There are still some rusty rails there where they used to haul the flying boats up out of the bay.

Some pix of Midway:

La Ceiba Utila Honduras.  In case the single engine prop doesn't get up to critical takeoff speed, there's a 30ft high ramp at the end of the runway just before the ocean.  We didn't need it.

In the picture below it looks like they have removed the ramp at the end...

There's a much more scary mountain airstrip Lukla in Nepal, check out the approach and landing. It's the nearest airport to Mount Everest and I think it is quite busy.

After that landing climbing Everest would be a snap
