Can Jarno make the egg-shell walk by this Pirelli tires? I always think Jarno was a driver who jumped ship at the wrong time and end up being not winner, though having the talent worthy of it.But still prefer Heikki, has done some good job at the Caterham, and I feel he has the ability to improve Ferrari as a team.

Nope, not me.  I won't jump on the Trulli bandwagon train.  Never been a favourite of mine.  Spurts of speed (talent?) here and there, but for the most part an average mid-fielder.  Nice enough guy, not a whiner, but really just an average driver.

Heikki has also not impressed me this year or previously.  I remember he won ROC a few years back and everyone thought he was the second coming.  Once in F1, he sure didn't stand out as far as I can tell, regardless of team or teammate.   

I have no idea why Ferrari would let Perez go anywhere else if they have any kind of hook into him.  If it is simply because the great one Alonso doesn't want him, then it's time someone sat down with the Spaniard and told him to grow up and go race.  I do NOT see the point of paying a driver 10's of millions of dollars, and then allow a clause in the contract that gives him choice of second driver so he can choose one that he's 'comfortable' with.  If you're getting the big bucks, surely you can hack it when you've got a young gun nipping at your heels.  What a better way to motivate a $50m driver than to find the fastest, most aggressive up-and-comer to keep the big shot honest.  And so that the up-and-comer can learn from the very best (makes it a bit easier to sign that cheque when you know the experience might be getting passed around).

You're right of course, but isn't it a shame?  If they could sweep away some of the egos, putting Perez and Alonso together could be great fun to watch.

I am pretty sure if I thought I was the best driver in the world, as most F1 drivers should think, I wouldn't be afraid of ANYONE, and would relish the challenge to put someone else in their place.

I don't think Alonso is worried about Perez beating him, I think he is worried that Perez might be good enough to require attention from the team. With Massa, all the attention is focused on Ferd, Massa gets leftovers. No one expects anything from Massa, so he gets very little help from the team.

Totally agreed with Lonny, and that lack attention will be hurtful for Perez at the very early stage of his career.
