Technically, they are not a British team. Bruce was from New Zealand and the first cars were orange.

I know the basics of the history of McLaren/Project 4.

I also know that by hiring two British drivers, they were making an effort to be THE British team (given how many teams are based in Britain, even if they fly other flags).

The adopted silver when they were affiliated with Mercedes and their 'Silver Arrows' history.

Personally, the orange would be a great way to go.  Very iconic.

The New Zealand colour is green with silver sides (basically the opposite of the current Mercedes)

The F1 Jaguars weren't British Racing Green. They were a much lighter shade that they called Jaguar Racing Green. Supposedly, they thought it showed up better than BRG on TV. It also matched the color used by their sponsor Beck's.

I only mention this because my BRG MG might end up being Jag Green if when I finish the bodywork.

Quite right, Lonny. Here's the Jaguar Racing Green.

Ferrari hasn't been rosso corsa in years either.

I agree, BRG looks fantastic in person, but JRG looked better on TV.

Back to Hamilton.I think Lewis is gonna  miss Mclaren more than
Mclaren is going to miss Hamilton.

I've never cared for Hamilton and to me it's a slap in Ron
Dennis's face. How many 13 year olds get taken under the
wing of a top F1 Team and win a WDC?Maybe Glock should
have had his name etched on the trophy right above Lewis's.

He made his bed I hope he enjoys watching Perez and Button
notch some wins. :tease:

I know.  Hamilton's story was quite fantastic.  I'd hoped he's spend his entire career with McLaren.  I can't really blame Hamilton for going after the cash, but it does sully the story.

Once he's in a car that can't make it out of Q2, there won't be nearly as many firms wanting him in their adverts. Companies want a winner to endorse their products. I wonder how much longer Merc will keep throwing money at a loosing team.

Even when Michael was on the top of his game and with no
Mclaren limitations and with multi WDC's not just one most
people here still had never heard of him.

Perez being from N America would have a better chance here making
a name for himself, but again we have the Mclaren limitations

Mr. Lewis Hamilton, you are a fantastic driver when you are given a fantastic car. If the car not up to pace of winning race, you have a tendency to crash in many spectacular and at times very controversial ways.

You just took the dive from the height you have achieved, and to my reckon you will be always regarded as the lucky driver who won his only title because a guy slipped in a turn. I thought you were a little better, at times showed a little prove of that, but saying goodbye to the team who nurtured you to be the one who you are now, who had to let go the most complete driver in paddock to their rivals because they wanted to keep you, is something that you will regret all of your life.

We don't realize the blessings until they are gone...

And if you think you will have advertisement pouring all over you, knock knock Mr. Lewis Hamilton, wake up from the dream, there will be none once they will see that you are mid-table battling team.

P.S : I always thought that 1 year in the McLaren team made Alonso a lot better, as a driver, as well as his P.R.

Nice BD.  Great points.  I hadn't really thought about his only, but very controversial, WDC.  If he never wins another, he won't be much for the history books.  :fool: :fool:

I hope Vettel realizes that he should tag along behind the best engineer on the grid and worry about the dollars a few years down the road.

I also think Alonso was better after Mclaren, but not sure if that's what made him better...perhaps only more mature.   :DntKnw:
