Mini and now Ford withdraw factory teams, is series on borrowed time?

If VW, with the much praised Ogier in their car, take the crown away from Citroen in 2013 will that be the excuse for the the French marque to also walk away?

MINI's plan has always been to turn the team over to privateers. Ford, I'm very sorry to say, has been in free fall since Anti-Auto Allen took over. They ended their 40+ year run in F1 and pulled out of top level endurance racing.

That said, the WRC has been in major trouble for several years. I hope it can survive, but the FIA continues to drag it down.
