EPA to Monitor Austin Race
« on: November 16, 2012, 01:56:14 PM »
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will be doing fly-overs of the Austin track all week-end to monitor air pollution. The aircraft used will be one of the EPA's Aero Commander 680 twins. It carries EPA markings. the monitoring is at the request of Travis County.

Really?

The EPA can let an offshore oil rig go without inspections for months, until it fails and almost kills an entire sea... but heaven forbid someone run some high efficiency V8s for a couple hours in the sticks?

Or are we trying to see the damage caused by a Texas sized traffic jam?

Well who knows what they are actually up to, but the article says it's part of an anti terrorism program. They are scanning for radiation hot spots among other things.

They always say that terrorists don't understand Americans.

Blowing up an F1 race would be a prime example of that.

Maybe next they'll target a MLS game, followed by an assassination of Newt Gingrich?

Yeah, like the EPA loophole that lets big oil dump oil directly into streams on Native land in Wyoming.  The EPA needs a real work-over.
