A couple of tourist sites say violence in Mexico City, where the race will likely take place is on a par with LA or Miami. There are neighborhoods to avoid but if you stick to tourist areas you should be safe. I wouldn't stay away from Long Beach because of violence in Compton. Though I had a great chili dog in Compton once! 

PS James Allen says there is a rumor in the paddock Bernie is talking to people in Long Beach about F1 taking the Long Beach GP back from Indycar.

Molson (Canadian beer company) is talking about suing the NHL because beer sales are down a large amount without hockey games being played due to a lock out by the owners.


However, sex toy sales in Canada are said to be up, because men have nothing better to do without hockey being played.
