Montoya to get 'wings?'
« on: March 23, 2006, 10:23:20 PM »
Should Montoya be in need of a new job at the end of this season, Red Bull Racing intend being the first in line.

Ever since McLaren announced in December that they'd signed Fernando Alonso for 2007, leaving just one race-seat available, Montoya's future has been looking rather bleak. Not only is he out of contract at the end of the year but it also doesn't seem the team is rushing to prepare a new one, waiting instead to see what Kimi decides to do.

And should the Finn, who McLaren have made it clear is the one they want as Alonso's 2007 team-mate, contradict current rumours by staying where he is, Montoya would then be in need of a new team to race for. And Red Bull Racing boss Horner believes his team would be the perfect solution to the 30-year-old's dilemma.

When Montoya joined F1 he was full of fire, ready to take on the world..."Schumacher, he's just another car to overtake"... He showed promise with speed and spirit (although a little hot-headed). Now he seems to have settled back with his pipe and slippers.

I want to see fire, ambition and a true craving to win in every F1 driver. Michael maybe the oldest in the pack but he can still show the youngsters what its like to have a 'need to win.'

:good: yup, I agree, when Juan, on his first race I think,in Brasil out schumied schumey on I think about the 2nd or 3rd corner and shoved Micheal on the grass and after the race Schumey said "no problem, at last someone who will mix it", I thought great, even though I am a Schumey fan, there should be some good racing between Juan Pablo and MSC he does seem to have fell by the wayside a bit, great shame

Ron Dennis has offered high praise for Montoya, saying he is one of formula one's hardest workers.

Ron said that he had 'never' seen a grand prix pilot put in more preparation for a new season.

He just needs to translate this hardwork into performance on the track  :lazy:
