Annette Funicello Dies
« on: April 08, 2013, 09:39:57 PM »
For many guys my age, she was our first crush. She really was "America's Sweetheart."

Annette Funicello has passed at the age of 70.

She became famous on the original Mickey Mouse Club in the 1950's. In the 60's, she made a series of beach movies with Frankie Avalon. They made an entire generation of teenagers want to move to California. They also made at least one kid from the hills of Appalachia determined to take up surfing some day.

She also had a number of hit records.

R.I.P., Annette. thanks for it all. This is the way We'll always remember you.

While I knew she suffered badly from MS it's still a
shock to see her go so young  RIP
Mark Twain once opined, "it's easier to con someone than to convince them they've been conned."

Yep, on the New Jersey shore while I was living in New York City.
