NASCAR Transporter Stolen By Rival Team
« on: May 17, 2013, 08:02:39 PM »
And you thought the Stepney affair and the  Briatore/Piquet Crashgate scandals were interesting. I guess you just can't beat NASCAR for a soap opera!

NASCAR driver Mike Harmon has been accused of stealing a team transporter from Jennifer Jo Cobb. Cobb reported the trailer was stolen early Saturday from the JJC racing shop. She is a driver and team owner in NASCAR's Truck Series.

Cobb told investigators the trailer was taken by Harmon and Sheila Rae Rice, and the Rowan County Sheriff's Office said it issued warrants for their arrest for felony larceny and breaking and entering.

“The truth has got to come out,” Harmon told reporters. “It's not me. She's got animosity against me. … I've never been in any kind of trouble. You don't wake up in your mid-50s and say, 'I'm going to go steal somebody's hauler today.' It don't work that way. I've never stolen even a piece of bubble gum.”

Nah! The two parties used to be engaged, organized a racing team and then broke up. Now they are fighting over who owns what from the team equipment. She says her name is on the title, he says he paid for it. The matter is in court, but he figured possession is 9/10s of the law, though he says he had nothing to do with it.
