Phil Hill
« on: August 14, 2013, 07:24:41 PM »
I just came across this article about Phil Hill. He was the first American to win the WDC. He won Sebring and Le Mans each twice. His first victory was in an MG TC, his last in a Chaparral 2F. A great driver and a great gentleman. Back in my childhood, he was one of my heroes.

He still is.

One of the classiest guys to ever pull on a helmet. If the Chaparrels had been as well sorted as the Fords, they would have won a lot of races; they were always fast. I personally loved the articles on classic cars he wrote for R/T. He wrote as well as he drove.  :good: :good: :good:
