Tea tray brackets & mid season tyre change RBR's advantage
« on: October 29, 2013, 11:32:29 AM »

BBC's Gary Anderson says success not engine related.

Change to tyre construction played into Red Bull's hands with their heavily raked car design, but tricky new brackets holding underfloor plank may allow much lower front ride height than competitors.  :swoon:  So it appears it's Red Bull engineering and design not a hidden traction control in Renault's engine package allowing them to win. - Unless of course it's both.  ;)

FIA has tested Red Bull's tea-tray, by applying heat upto 300C, to see if there is any lift, which is speculated to let them run a bit lower front suspension. Fortunately for RBR & unfortunately for others, FIA found no lift, thus declaring it legal. Last year, they also have checked RBR plank for gaining advantage, but it was also declared as legal.
