Massa signs for Williams

Boring - I've never thought Massa brought much razzle-dazzle to F1, but I suppose a sensible move from Williams what with his experience.

Great for Massa, not sure it's so good for Williams.

I'm interested to know who those of you who disagree with this decision would have picked instead.  Williams are, barring a wet race, only going to get one point this year.  They need a reliable and safe pair of hands next season, and Massa represents that, so he was the logical choice.

Heikki, and in hindsight, Perez for 2.  Honestly I think they should have held on to Maldo.  As often as not, he showed speed.  I think Ali would have backed Fisi.

Like has been said about Mclaren, I don't think Williams problem is their drivers, but the car.  Sort that out first and then make the kind of drastic driver changes they are about to make for next season.

Williams may not have known that Pérez was available when they took the decision.  Kovalainen's a good candidate, but they probably didn't want two Finns in the team, as that would have narrowed marketing opportunities.

Keeping Maldonado was never going to happen.  There has been a total breakdown in the relationship between him and the team.  As fast as he may be sometimes, he's also horribly inconsistent, and seems to be very poor at motivating the team during the bad times.

Mclaren probably knew they weren't retaining
Perez a month ago or more. The decent thing would
have been to have told him then.Maybe he could have
taken some much needed money to Williams

McLaren seems to be a shadow of itself this year in terms of being decisive, and having a plan in mind.  I get the impression that the team is treading water waiting for the new Honda engine in 2015.  As a result, it doesn't surprise me that they have been somewhat indecisive regarding their driver line up, and I'm not so sure that they had made their minds up a month ago.
