Action in Austin

So you missed the action in Austin because you only watched the F1 race?  Well here's the first lap of the Ferrari Challenge race from Sunday morning.  Remember, these are privately owned Ferraris.  The local Ferrari dealer, if he was in the stands, was probably cheering things on.  Get on the phone to Italy and order some spare parts!!

One bonehead caused a lot of damage just because he thought he should still race...

There were about 30 cars.

Since all are more-or-less identical, what makes the difference is the drivers' ability.  Sitting at turn 12, I could see why many are significantly slower.

There were two things I noticed.  The first is that so many of them do not understand the significance of getting the apex of a turn correct, even when not in traffic, more than half of them missed the apex.  The second observation was in the braking - many drivers hit the binders more than 50 yards earlier than the top runners.  I wished so that I had a ride.
Life is short - live each day to the fullest.
