Paul Page Returns as "Voice of the 500"
« on: December 03, 2013, 04:07:04 PM »
Paul Page will return this May as "The Voice of the 500," the lead commentator for the Indy 500 radio broadcast. Page replaced the legendary Sid Collins in 1977, and continued through 1987.

In recent years, he has been doing NHRA coverage for ESPN.

He was named to replace Mike King, who had held the position with IndyCar since 1996 and the 500 since 1999. King resigned last month.

“Amazed would be an understatement,” the 68-year-old Page said. “It’s almost a dream.”

I always liked Paul Page.  He is one of the few motorsports 'voices' who seems to have a real passion for the sport. :good: :good:
