Merc to oppose
« on: October 16, 2014, 08:31:28 PM »
...the engine rules relaxation, as expected.

Thought I want the competition evened out, I hate it, but do understand their commercial interests in keeping things as they are for them.  They should just remember that sometimes that kind of thing comes back to bite them though.

I agree with Mercedes:  they went into this engine programme with a  budget.  They've now been told that budget is invalid.  Who wants to be involved in a contract where the other side doesn't honour it?

Of course, I really agree with Horner:  F1 and 'engine restriction' just don't belong together!  F1's number goal needs to be creating an environment where 13 teams are being supplied by adventurous designers and every weekend is as much an 'arms race' as it is a driving contest.

Sometimes I think about that, but then I wake up...  ;)
