wonder what the people would think from 1929 if
they could time travel to now and watch a GP?

Good one, Dare!  :good: It's amazing how much of the course is essentially the same. I was struck by the people casually strolling along the sidewalks during the race.

Wow! It's great to see a GP at such an old historic track that is still in use today. Great find  :good:

They what struck me is that after 85 years you
could still identify the sectors of the track

I ran across this today. Classic racer (Maserati 250F) on the current Monaco circuit.

What a treat it must be to drive at Monaco in a car that actually raced there. He seemed to be giving it a pretty good go as well. I still feel the addition of the pool was bad for the track layout.

The guy in the red car in front for most of it was no slouch either.

Of course in a car like that my heart wouldn't be pumping from the excitement, it would be from the nervousness of driving a car I could never afford to replace around a track with armco only a couple of metres away on either side.  :o

Oldest known crash video. During restoration the image was reversed. Coney Island 1919.

No, Lonnie, that wasn't me!  :P

The main changes in the track @ Monaco are along the yacht basin, from Tobacconist to what is now Anthony Noghes. I think it is do to them filling in part of the harbor in that area.

Here's Fangio at full chat in an 250F at Modena, circa 1957. I love the way he casually takes both hands off the wheel to adjust his goggles. Turn up the volume!
