Carl Haas's 1972 CanAm entry, the Lola T-310 is being auctioned off. The car was raced in the series by David Hobbs.

There's a reason why the nose looks so much like it's contemporary, the Porsche 917/10K CanAm car. The design was partly the result of information gleaned by Haas mechanic Ike Smith from Porsche driver Jo Siffert in a casual conversation about Stuttgart’s aero findings.

While not successful in CanAm, the Haas-Lola connection lead to his first F1 effort, Team Haas (USA) Ltd. The team competed with Lola built cars in 1985 & 1986.
