I can't believe they are even wasting their time regarding changes to the dimensions of the cars when the tires are still the elephant in the room. With Pirelli possibly out in 2016 or at least possible changes to wheel diameters they will be at square 1 again with chassis setup anyway.
But, I suppose they need something to talk about.

There are a lot of elephants in the room - to the point where the powers-that-be being too squashed by them to think straight is a plausible explanation of this point-missing exercise.

These changes do seem to fall into the "lipstick on a pig" category. Fiddling with the minutia when major changes are needed.
