Someone at Biggin Hill is pushing Bernie forward.  ;)

Still a problem allowing live race feeds though.  :(

I two minds myself about whether it's worth £20 to get the extras????  :DntKnw:

$130.00!?  Bye bye, Bernie.

$130/yr without live streaming wherever and whenever I want to watch a race?  The extras they talk about aren't worth it.

Forget it.    >:D >:D

I wonder if they throw in the local time conversion feature that used to be on the website?

When FOM demonstrates to me they can get the live timing to work on my computer (no F1 version of it has worked on my computer since 2011), then I might consider paying money for a fancier service by the same provider.

Like so many other things, they have taken something that wasn't broken and ruined it basically.   :o

They did it more-or-less without warning.  The first I had heard of it was when I went to the site yesterday to look up a few things.  It is difficult to navigate as well.  There was no count-down clock ticking away and "live-timing" if there was extremely obscure.

I guess it more about money than the fans.  I won't buy in.

Also, you can pay €28 for live timing that will tell you Carlos Sainz is Mexican.

The upside is that there is finally a free version that works on my computer. Or would if the site had enough bandwidth. The free version does not get Carlos' nationality wrong.

Cosworth151, no need for F1 Access for timezone conversion - I found the (rather well-hidden) feature free of charge. To find it after typing in the usual home page, scroll down until you find the times, then click "Your Time". Then click the venue name to change back. Indeed, this feature has been expanded, because you can now also scroll through all the races expected to happen this season and do the same trick for any race this year, at any time while the season is still running.

Thanks, Ali. I finally got the thing to run a few minutes ago.

The 24 Hour Series race at Mugello was this week-end. I checked out their website.

The entire race, very well done, including pre & post race, with commentary by the best-in-the-business Radio LeMans crew: Free

Live T&S, including a full stats page, a real-time tracking page & live tweets from the teams: Free

http://www.24hseries.com/live

(IMSA/TUSC, please note)

Amazing how other series can get it so right & "the pinnacle of motorsports" always gets it so wrong.

Other Series actually WANT fans. Bernie doesn't, he wants billionaires.

I usually look up the London starting time to set
the GG then all I have to do is subtract 5 hours
for my starting race time[4 hours till you Brits
get your dst right with ours

ESPN has a free live timing as do a few others.
Hardest thing now is to find out who has fast lap.

Ali I used that version of live timing at the Australian race,I put
a link up at chat....I guess Cos missed it.Still no fast lap

The FOM site had locked up my PC every time I tried it, so I didn't want to risk even trying it at race time.

I found this on the site. It lists Lewis as FL. I'm not sure how soon after the race it goes up:

Their greed will not attract a larger fan base.  That is done by free stuff that is easy to navigate and Formula1.com is rapidly departing from both.
