Engine costs have doubled from V6's to V8's

Leave it to Williams to point out the obvious and knock the knees out from under the FIA and their ridiculous 'cost saving measures'.

It's not rocket science that changing an engine formula is more expensive than sticking with the one you've got.

It takes a tremendous stack of cash to try to make a silk purse out of a V6 sow's ear.

Obviously it was coming, as the engine providers put millions of cash in term of developing it.  Any newer formula will be costly, but it should be introduced if it is worth it. I have issue with how the FOM and other regulatory bodies gagged the teams with this huge amount of bill, without any plan for teams to recover it.

I had 2 problems with the V8s, development was frozen, and they only made 800 BHP. An F1 driver should not be able to mash the throttle as soon as the car rotates. It should be necessary to modulate the power to keep the car from spinning out under power.
