Lauda defends Pirelli
« on: September 04, 2015, 08:14:01 PM »
For me Vettel's tirade after Spa was little better than the finger twirling at Webber.  The so often happy go lucky German showed his true colours once again using his mouth (or finger) to attack another competitor/partner.

Now Lauda and Wolff are jumping to Pirelli's defence and there is some word that more is going on behind the scenes.  Ferrari is a Pirelli partner not only in F1, but in a few other series not to mention their road cars.  Certainly that was pointed out to the German in a back room somewhere.  As well Bernie would have had something to say.

Vettel came up short of apologizing, but was apparently much more relaxed about it to the media on Th-Fr, taking the blame off Pirelli and though not accepting any himself, just chucked it over his shoulder.

Yeah Vettel is just a spoilt brat,  ::) we didn't hear Mansell screaming at the tyre guys when he lost the 86 WDC so dramatically in Adelaide with the now infamous blow out on the main straight.

Man up Seb!  To finish 1st - or 2nd or 3rd - first you must finish.  :P

Tyres are just another piece of the big puzzle over reliability in a race.

Saw a bit of the Vettel interview. He said that he was satisfied an investigation was underway and people were taking the problem seriously. Pirelli for their part said that they were concerned t5hat a number of tires from Belgium had cuts from debris, not just the blown ones. David Hobbs said that by driving over the rumble strips, drivers may be exposing their tires to debris that was lodged in between the ripples and not removed properly. This will be on going for some time. Charlie really needs to be tough on drivers cutting the curbs; Vettel was completely off the track at the top of Radillion.  :nono:
