Jeff Goldblum. Bill Pullman & Jessica Fox will all carry over from the first one. Robert Loggia. my favorite actor in the first one, won't be in this one.  He recently died in real life.

I just hope this one can live up to the original.

If you ever go back and look at 'brainless' movies from other eras, they seem surprisingly deep and textured and textured compared with more modern 'brainless' movies.

Loggia was a great example in the original ID4.  It is so easy to have a bombastic trigger happy general advising the president, but instead he is a man of considered conscience.  His limited screen time shows a man trying to find the best solution while tactfully dealing with the idiots around him.  I don't know that you'll find such a nuanced character over the last 10 summers blockbusters.
