I didn't quite catch what happened... did they go green while the marshall was still on track?  Or did he go out before yellows were waved?

One explanation I read was that the all clear call went around the track (which they need to confirm before they throw the green) and then some marshall station boss sent this poor guy out for a piece of debris he saw at the last minute.

The FIA has issued a statement that confirms what Scott said earlier. They say that the FIA  followed its own protocols but its procedures were not "properly executed" by the clerk of the course and their team.

I kind of suspected that when the yellow flags were after the spot the marshal was initially running in...

I bet that's the fastest the guy has run, at least he can have a picture of him out running an F1 car.
