Reports suggest French GP contract at Paul Ricard about to be signed.

This should please a lot of us, but Dare most of all.  :good:
I think there may be some Cajun blood in Dare's lineage.  :D

How convenient.  Bernie gets to negotiate with Bernie.  I wonder who wins, the FOM Bernie or Paul Ricard Owner Bernie?

Take a guess at Bernie. Possibly.

It's a good circuit but with massive runoff areas. It would be good to have France back.

It was always a circuit that was interesting because of the long straights and slow corners.

I would like to see it.

Since Bernie bought it, and turned it into a test track, it now has plenty of layouts to choose from.  It might not resemble the old Paul Ricard very much.

They will have a lot of stands to build, but hey, another track less than 6hrs from me can only be good.

Given the rumours about FOM Bernie being ousted, I'm guessing Paul Ricard Bernie

It'll be good to France back in the mix!
Bernie has the track leased out so he has just extended the lease I expect I wish he was running my pension fund!

I wonder if maybe this is to replace the Nurburgring? Then we would have France and Germany in alternate years. Easier financially for both. :DntKnw:

France being back in the calendar will be good, but I don't think it will happen because given the price one have to pay to arrange, it will be difficult without government assistance, that will badly be happening.

I don't know Scott. COTA is 95% temporary seating.  About the only permanent stands are the "main" grandstands on the start/finish straight.  All of the rest of them are "erector set" (do they still make that wonder child's toy) seating.

Although I haven't seen an official announcement, everyone seems to think France will host a GP at Paul Ricard in 2018. Now it's been announced, leaked, speculated that they will ruin the race by using one of the chicanes on the Mistral Straight. I HATE chicanes. BLEAH!!
