Adelaide rules out GP bid
« on: March 14, 2007, 05:04:01 AM »
The state government of South Australia has ruled out bidding against Melbourne to recapture the Australian Grand Prix. The state treasurer Kevin Foley said that there was "no chance of the government bidding for the Grand Prix" because it would "cost the state too much".

Melbourne has the race until 2010 but will probably extend that for another five years despite the fact that there is criticism of the race in the local media. There is vague talk of a bid from Sydney but the city has talked a lot about bid events in recent years and as yet has failed to deliver much.
