It seems that sporty cars are no longer cool and motorists would now rather get their hands on a green machine.
That is according to the latest research from the AA which shows that sales of sports cars have plummeted in the last year.
On the contrary, 25 per cent of Brits have expressed an interest in buying an eco-friendly car in the coming year.
"The rapid growth of the green agenda among car buyers over the last year is very significant," said Lloyd East from the AA.
"To date, the Chelsea Tractors have taken the brunt of green attacks but in truth 4x4s make up a relatively a small percentage of cars on the road - if they were all taken off the streets tomorrow, there would still be a green agenda to tackle.
"With a fifth of all car buyers today going green, the environmental agenda is being driven into the heart of the motor industry - over family estates, saloon cars and people carriers," he added.
It is clear from the AA's Deals on Wheels report that money issues are playing a big role on the cars we choose.
The study found that 31 per cent of us want a reliable car that is cheap to run, while 27 per cent want good fuel economy and lower insurance premiums.
