Japan qualifying

So Verstappen, going too slow and swerving around, loses the rear and almost sideswipes Norris  - clearly his fault and he gets away with it; again!!

Stewards have given reprimand, although it was a close incident, nothing came of it and both sides hold portions of the blame. Maybe a reprimand is a little light, but a grid penalty is way too heavy.
I'd have preferred both to get reprimands. Fair decision though I reckon.

Monty, Stewards state that all previous incidents like this ended with a reprimand. Should Max be treated more harshly just because you can't stand him?

The stewards did not criticise Norris at all - he did nothing wrong. Verstappen breached Article 33.4 of the Sporting Regulations.
I think he should have been penalised because it was so dangerous - no other reason. I obviously do not know the circumstances of the ‘other incidences’ referred to but I am sure if the roles were reversed and Norris made a schoolboy error almost losing control and nearly causing a serious accident; he would have been handed a grid penalty. It seems that the Verstappen/Red Bull are treated differently to others.

I think all the top drivers are treated differently. And
this includes Russel, Leclerc, Perez, Sainz, and especially
Lewis.
Mark Twain once opined, "it's easier to con someone than to convince them they've been conned."
