He doesn't even mention the  main reason that RBR is going to struggle:  Honda only does well once they (announce to) leave the sport.

While the Milton Keynes squad was always going to have less time than any other team based on the aerodynamic testing restrictions’ sliding scale having won the Constructors’ title, their allotted 70% has now been slashed to 63%.

As such Coulthard says they may come up short in designing a title-winning car in the years to come.

DC is just stating the obvious namely most championships have been won by the best car on the grid, and then by best driver in that team. What's gone before is not necessarily a pointer for the future and lets not forget that there are minimal regs changes for next few years.

For me there's not sufficient evidence yet that RBR and Newey can't stay ahead, if not level with the opposition. Sure the Ferrari engine may prove better than Honda, and sure Merc may get on top of the no sidepods concept, but have we all forgotten the lighter floor/chassis design that RBR announced and never implemented due to cost cap in 22. RBR was still overweight at the end of the season and most claim less weight faster car - ok only a tenth or 2, it all counts though.

Then again who would bet against Newey coming up with more Aero improvement for 23 car. Added to that Max appears to have hit his prime and most other drivers are having trouble matching him - for whatever reason.
I'm betting on title No 3 for Max!  :yahoo:

Anyone know if Newey was involved with the Red Bull / Alinghi Americas Cup sailboat (if you can call it that)?  He always said he wanted to design the hull on a world class sailboat.  With RB throwing money around, maybe it is/was his chance finally.

The Max era will likely be over as soon as the FIA's many breaches of regulation are held to proper account.
