Perhaps I've judged Max too Harshley
« on: May 22, 2023, 11:57:30 PM »
According to this article he'd like to see F1 racing at Laguna Seca, Road America or Virginia International

I'm sure this is standard F1 journalism, making a talking point about throw away musings from a driver.

But Laguna Seca really is my favourite track.  It's not far from 'Silicon Valley'.  It might not have the 'glitz and glamour' of Miami or Las Vegas that F1 wants, but there's a big pile of money and people who love high tech things right on the door step of Laguna Seca.  It wouldn't be hard to turn it into another 'must see' cultural event.

I suppose that like Road America, Laguna Seca isn't up to F1 standards, but it's not like that's a hard problem to solve.

If Max is serious about racing there, he could make some noise about quitting if F1 doesn't go, and I'm sure they'll find a way.  And if they do.... I might have to find myself an orange flare or two...

I don't think MV is that important to F1.
Once you have retired every day is a Saturday!
