With some 152 forrest fires raging in Canada and the smoke/smog extending down to New York there are reports and the Montreal race being abandoned which I hope is just journalistic headlines.

I read they have cancelled some Major League Baseball games as well. Hopefully things clear up

Given that F1 had to be thrown out of the Imola paddock because the river next door was about to burst its banks, I fully expect F1 to at least turn up. I also hope the wildfires are under control by next week - even if there was no F1 race at stake, there's a lot of people and forest in danger, and I wish everyone in the area well.

The danger itself isn't near Montreal.  Most of Canada is sparsely populated, so the fires aren't near many people.  The concern is just air quality.  If 10% of 100,000 fans have even a minor medical emergency, that's going to be impossible to deal with.  Even though Montreal is built on a mountain (Mount Royal, go figure), the race is held in a river valley where the smoke can accumulate.

However the latest reports suggest the air quality shouldn't be a concern over all.
