Oh no not more tweaks!

As someone who dislikes the "Sprint" race format totally it seems another driver has come up with yet another tweak personally I would dump it all in the bin where it belongs!

Hey I kinda like that idea.  :good:

Would free up Sat mornings for proper race Quali, so no more park ferme after one practice as it would allow 2 practice sessions again on Fridays.

Big problem though is the amount of damage sustained as mid pack particularly tries to muscle their way to the podium or a win.
Maybe they'll need a separate cost cap budget to deal with Sprint damages.  :D

Idea would work best if Sprint gets it's own championship and don't count towards general WDC or constructors prize.

I don't have a fundamental problem with the sprints, and I've enjoyed watching them, but they feel like homework, like now I'm giving up Saturday and Sunday watching F1, yet not seeing qualifying which I enjoy more than the sprints.

I do agree with the idea that the sprint should form a separate championship.  That gives teams an opportunity to design cars to excel in sprints rather than races.  If a team knows they're not going to challenging for race podiums, maybe they can design a car that excels in low fuel conditions and produce solid sprint results.  It provides more opportunities for drivers and sponsors, and gives fans/talking heads a lot more to talk about than Max winning two quali sessions and two races in a single weekend.

I find the sprints are not only dull, but knock a lot of the unpredictability out of the Sunday race. They also make what becomes the most interesting session on such weekends - qualifying - happen on Friday evening, which means that in the UK, only people who pay top dollar get to see more than a few minutes of that session - and often clashes with work obligations anyway.

Nothing in Carlos' proposals helps with any of this.
