We need to put our act together - Briatore
« on: April 17, 2007, 06:18:42 PM »
Flavio Briatore, the Renault F1 team boss, told 'Gulf News' that the team should have started preparing for the 2007 Formula One season sooner. According to Flavio, the team focussed too much on the 2006 championship final, when they already should have been getting their 2007 car ready.

Briatore said: "We are the defending champions, but we made the mistake in taking off late. It is three races into the season and we have not even taken off. But the fact remains here that we started off late. There are no miracles in this business, and we cannot undo lost time.

We are late and now we understand, after three races, why we are a little bit too slower than the other cars. We need to put our act together and see how we can make use of this short break before the Spanish Grand Prix next month."

So far, the ING Renault F1 Team is only 4th in the championship standings as they scored 9 points out of three races.
