Webber encouraged
« on: April 24, 2007, 05:37:47 AM »
In all three rounds of the 2007 Formula One season, Red Bull racing’s Mark Webber has managed to place his RB3 into the final top ten shootout in qualifying, however, the Aussie racer has yet to turn the strong grid positions into points scoring finishes.

Although he finished in front of his home crowd in Melbourne Australia, he was one lap down in 13th place, a poor result considering he started seventh, but the next two rounds, Malaysia and Bahrain, he failed to even make it to the chequered flag.

However, despite this, the Aussie racer was a little more encouraged in Bahrain a week ago as he could see that the performance side of things was on the up, but, once again, reliability needs to be addressed….

“One race doesn’t change anything, but it’s a bit of a sniff that we’ve got some potential there,” he told SpeedTV. “We’ve just got to start extracting it now, and finishing the job off. We were definitely quicker than Renault. If we had both finished, we would have been seventh and eighth. We’ve got no points to show for it yet, but if we think we’ve got problems, just look at some of the other guys, like Honda.”

Just like Australia, Mark was also hindered by a stuck open fuel flap, an issue he is definitely unhappy with as it should have been fixed after the first instance.

“It was bit frustrating to see some of the problems were still there. The catflap is not acceptable. It just hasn’t been fixed. It was actually too strong, because I wanted it to snap off, but it just stayed there

I'd really like to see what he could do with a good care that holds together. I think he'd surprise a few people.

cosworth, you are right. He must be the most unlucky man in F1...If he could manage to stay the course i think he would open  a few peoples eyes....You could use this argument for a few more drivers though,Jenson,David...etc..etc..

Rubens for instance No2 to Michael but with the right equipment he could be on top with anybody. It must be a big come down when you know what you can do,but you find you have a car which wont let you do it.
If only!
