Wet morning in Barcelona sees Kimi fastest
« on: May 01, 2007, 01:40:21 PM »
Testing continued in Barcelona this morning, with the predicted weather making a very unwelcome entrance after yesterday's sweltering temperatures. In the awful conditions, Kimi Räikkönen has once again set the lunchtime benchmark, the Finn completing only 8 laps, with Nico Rosberg being the only driver to lap more than 20 times, the German having missed yesterday's session when Williams tester Kazuki Nakajima took to the track.

The rain however continues to belt down onto the Circuit de Catalunya, and as it is likely to remain so for the remainder of the day, times are unlikely to improve my any major amount.

As in accordance with this year's testing agreement, this week's three-day test will be extended to four due to today's unclement weather conditions. A full list of the day's best times will be issued at the close of play at 17.00 GMT, with a report of the day's action later on.

Unofficial morning times from Barcelona (01/05/2007):
1. Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) - 1:33.324, 8 laps
2. Vitantonio Liuzzi (Toro Rosso-Ferrari) - 1:34.354, 16 laps
3. Nico Rosberg (Williams-Toyota) - 1:34.721, 27 laps
4. Takuma Sato (Super Aguri-Honda) - 1:36.067, 8 laps
5. Heikki Kovalainen (Renault) - 1:36.077, 7 laps
6. Rubens Barrichello (Honda) - 1:36.509, 9 laps
7. Jarno Trulli (Toyota) - 1:38.176, 13 laps
8. Nick Heidfeld (BMW Sauber-BMW) - 1:51.803, 2 laps
9. Mark Webber (Red Bull-Renault) - 1:53.751, 2 laps
10. Fernando Alonso (McLaren-Mercedes) - 2:04.818, 1 lap
