Points System,What's Wrong?
« on: May 13, 2007, 07:06:16 PM »
Does anyone besides me find it strange that after 4
races Massa has 2 wins to none for Hamilton, yet he
trails by 3 points in the WC :o

I know how the points add up,my point was Bernie changed
the point system so Bernie wouldn't run off with the driving
championship. If this holds true Lewis could win the WDC and
never win a race

Consistancy is the key, all right. This kind of thing happens in other forma of racing all the time. Look at NASCAR, where they award points to every car that starts.

HOw would everyone feel about extra points for leading a lap, and/or most laps led? How about for fastest lap?

I see what you mean dare and it is possible that a driver could become World Champion without winning a GP under this system. He would of course have to be on the Podium every race to do it.You have a good point though dare and it would be silly if we had a World Champ without winning a single race to get there. I think they will have to give more points for a win to leave a good gap between the points to solve the situation.

If  I'm not mistaken, when Keke Rosberg won the WDC he won
only 1 race
