We can win in Montreal, insists Ferrari
« on: June 04, 2007, 07:19:22 PM »
Ferrari is adamant it can return to winning ways in the Canadian Grand Prix just a fortnight on from McLaren’s runaway victory in Monte Carlo.

The Italian squad finished over a minute behind its championship rival’s two drivers in the Principality, with its F2007 unable to transfer its superior speed from the opening four rounds of the season on to the street circuit.

However Ferrari’s sporting director Stefano Domenicali has echoed team boss Jean Todt’s belief that its Monaco trouncing will only be a blip in its season, especially as Monaco's characteristics are so different to any other tracks'.

Indeed Domenicali insists that with new front and rear wings and other aerodynamic updates on its car for the low-downforce Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, there is no reason why Ferrari can’t make an immediate return to the front of the field.

"We believe we will have a strong package for this event," Domenicali said.

"There is no reason why we should not be able to fight for the win in Montreal after a weekend in Monaco where our performance did not accurately reflect our potential."

Montreal has traditionally been one of Ferrari’s happiest hunting grounds, winning seven of the last 12 races on the circuit and finishing with at least one driver on the podium in each of the races over the past decade.

Monaco is much different than the other circuits. I think Ferrari will do well on the long, high speed sections of Montreal and Indy. McLaren might make it up on the twisty infield section at Indy, but I doubt it.

I expect Ferrari to go well in the back to back races, they dont have the luxury of setting up the motor homes because of the time involved, so it will be back to basics for them all.

Do the teams take the motorhomes on flyaway races?

No cosworth they dont bother because of the construction time. What they have these days cant be described as motor homes more like offices with toilet showers,Air conditioning etc

with Liuzzi showing it off.

Pretty remarkable,I'll look for it when
I get home from work tonite
