Fernando Alonso showed little interest in Montreal when a scrum of international media tried to bring up the 'team orders' ruckus surrounding the Monaco GP.
"The past is the past; it's behind us," the Spaniard, who after the race was accused by the British press of enjoying favourable treatment compared with his rookie McLaren teammate Lewis Hamilton, responded on Thursday.
Alonso said: "We won at Monaco and now we are here - and we want to win again."
He was asked about the fervent reaction of the British press corps, who interpreted McLaren's Monaco strategy as an illegal team order that barred Hamilton from going for the win.
Asked if he thought they were right, 25-year-old Alonso said: "If they know everything, then you should ask them and not me."
In truth, the McLaren driver and championship leader said he was "surprised" about the negative reaction to his dominant Monaco performance, and played down talk of any internal rift.
Alonso said: "I get along with Lewis absolutely fine, even if some people outside of the team would like it to be the other way.
"But this is the theatre of Formula One. Everything is going well; we lead both world championships and we should enjoy this fantastic moment."
