A man who completed the fastest known drive on UK streets has received his sentence for speeding.
Reaching a top speed of 172mph on an Oxfordshire road, Timothy Brady has now been banned from getting behind the wheel.
He was travelling 102 miles faster than the 70 mph speed limit as he motored down the A420 before hitting a Porsche valued at almost £100,000.
Sky News reports that Brady stated: "Oh s***, oh s***, I've lost my job," when stopped by police.
At the hearing last month, court recorder James Patrick failed to cause a stir when he revealed: "172mph is extremely fast."
Brady, who worked at a car lease firm, resigned from his post just days after the incident, while his lawyer told the court that his actions had been both stupid and foolhardy.
He denied a further charge of aggravated vehicle taking and was warned that a custodial sentence was likely.
Brady was later issued a ten-week prison term.
