I absolutely agree that it is ludicrous that the team can't score points but the drivers can.  Doesn't mak any sense.  Apart from financial sense to Bernie.

Yes Steven, but isn't that what it's all about these days?

On the understanding that ignorance of the law is no excuse, we have another perfect example of 2 weights and 2 measures today.

Ferrari break a rule (use illegal tyres) for which the penalty in writing from the FIA itself is an immediate black flag. Were any of the Ferraris black flagged today? No, they were just told to please come in and change to legal tyres.

Would that have been the attitude had it been Mc Laren using illegal tyres?

John, agreed 100%,you stated my feeling on the tire
fiasco and how the FIA better in one paragraph
than most do in a whole chapter

Ferrari got significant downside because of their Mistake and anyway Kimi has gone on record that Whiting simply forgot to inform Ferrari of the rule.

This is a wind up.  Surely.  They told every other team, all the journalists, commentators etc and didn't tell Ferrari.  Not possible.  The FIA don't send someone to randomly stroll down the pit lane when they give out this information.  It is all done in a structured manner.

I suspect what Kimi meant was that someone at Ferrari simply forgot to pass the message on...

That's probably more like it.

In the normal scheme of things the FIA will speak to Ferrari - TODT, and ask him if he minds if they issue a rule on tyres.

In other words Ferrari were probably the first to know.
