A man who stole a doughnut could be facing a jail term of 30 years, but that is to do with an assault charge instead. Scott Masters was accused of stealing a doughnut and when he was confronted by the shop assistant he pushed her away which means that instead of being just a shoplifting charge, it has not turned into a minor assault.
This now means that it is being treated as a strong-arm robbery rap, there is a possible 15-year jail term but prosecutors are pushing for 30 years. Masters who is now in custody (snigger) said that a 30-year jail term over a doughnut is impossible.
He has admitted to stealing the Doughnut, but has denied ever touching the employee, he said that no way would he have pushed a woman, he then added that he did not even enjoy the doughnut as he threw it away as he tried to escape.
