Smoke Signals
« on: October 19, 2007, 08:52:22 PM »

With a carbon footprint the size of a small country, top tyre shredding stunt legend Russ Swift has created a very special personal message for F1 title hopeful Lewis Hamilton.

While the disused powerstation in Battersea has been a location for the forthcoming Batman film, Swift created the message in the car park for Microsoft and their “Skid Art” marketing campaign for Project Gotham Racing 4.

Ably assisted by a two-wheel toting friend, the 50-foot letters claimed the lives of three sets of tyres, as Swift’s Caterham smoked the letters into place. Let’s hope that Lewis can top a fine weekend of British sporting success, after the egg-chasers bring home the silverware in Paris.

I never miss a chance to see Russ Swift in action.  A great performer.

Didn't Gorgo destroy the Battersea power station back in the 1960's?

I thought it was converted into an art gallery a few years ago but I am not sure.  Anyone??

I think the inside got decommisioned and removed, but the shell got left. Or something. And quite a few people have used it since. I believe there's even been a Pink Floyd concert in there since decommissioning, though I may be wrong.
