It looks like Damon's attack on Max about his scandalous comments about JYS was not a one off.  In this article he questions why Toyota were not punished by the FIA as McLaren were and why Ferrari were not punished for winning with an illegal car in Australia.

Is this the start of a presidential campaign?

damon HILL is just stating the most obvious and glaring inconsistencies the FIA has had in recent years but will probably still be classed by mad max MOSLEY as a "half-wit" as well

i admire his moral courage but do not think he has the other qualities to be the next president of the FIA - but then again does he need much to better the incumbent?

the next president has a huge task to change the secretive culture of the FIA into a transparent and accountable modern organisation - one that inspires trust

I had to laugh when I read the FIA's response to Hill's latest outburst. Between the FIA not noticing the difference between breaching known rules, unknown rules and circumventing tests, they have simply made themselves look even more foolish than they would have done had they shut up and let Hill's comments stand. The criticism that the FIA referred to was actually for forcing the Michelin teams to comply with the rules in a spectacularly short time frame (and it happened in 2003, not 2005 as asserted).

The punchline was right at the end, though:

"The FIA has received no complaint and has no reason to believe that anything which took place between Ferrari and Toyota falls within its competence".

So it's just admitted that the Ferrari/McLaren and the McLaren/Renault cases don't fall within its competence either?  :DD

"Only if a dispute between teams involves something which affects a motor sport competition can, or should, the FIA become involved.

This was their response to doing nothing about the Toyota case.  So McLaren receiving Ferrari info affects racing.  Renault receiving McLaren info may affect racing but Toyota receiving Ferrari info does not affect racing.

The logic is stunning.

That's why I've given up even reading any of Max's pompous pronouncements.

The worrying thing is that it wasn't even Max who made this silly statement. It was an unnamed FIA spokesperson (which probably means Richard Woods).
