Whatever happened to the FIA Formula 1 entry list

This document is published regular as clockwork on December 1st except when that is a Sunday.  Strange that the FIA don't work Sundays when that is the day 90% of the world's motor racing takes place.  That explains a lot.

Anyway for whatever reason it has not been published yet.  This may be related to the Renault case as theoretically at least there is a chance they could be disqualified and there is no doubt some legal distinction between being refused an entry and having an entry granted then withdrawn.  Or it may be related to the Prodrive situation.  If the FIA don't give Prodrive an entry despite having previously said they would that may cause problems and of course if they do give them the entry the FIA are going to look silly and Prodrive will be landed with all the legal obligations of an entrant but without the means to compete.

So it looks like Max is now unable to perform the simple function of publishing the official entry list by the normal deadline.

For as long as I can remember the FIA has struggled to produce a race schedule and entry list more than a few weeks in advance of the start of the season.  Given that the circuits all have five year contracts and the teams are signed until 2012 or something similar how dificult can that really be?
